American Natural Superfood
This is a review of American Natural Superfood, but not the usual regurgitation of information you can get on the sales page here.
The formula was put together for the benefit of preppers and survivalists, but at the same time, they created the perfect superfood for everyone concerned about getting adequate protein and green powder in their diet all in one stable, good tasting drink.
This superfood shake mix was created as a replacement or supplement for survival food caches, bug-out-bags, and everyday use.

That said, I love getting a good dose of protein, seeds, and greens in one simple shake.
pea protein, brown rice protein, flaxseed, gluten-free wheatgrass, sea salt, barley grass, chia seed powder, spirulina, chlorella, cinnamon, ginger extract, turmeric, cinnamon bark, cocoa extract, acerola, kelp, apple, kale, broccoli, spinach, carrot, parsley, beet, green cabbage, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, tomato, aloe vera, ginseng, coenzyme Q10, dandelion root, milk thistle, enzymes and probiotics: acid protease, amyloglucosidase, cellulase, amylase, protease, lipase, lactospore bacillus coagulans (500 million CFU), natural vanilla flavor, guar gum, stevia leaf extract, and silica.
I use ANSF powder for a different reason. I have type ii diabetes.
These ingredients are vital for me in controlling my blood sugar. The hard part with diabetes are restrictive diets that you can’t possibly follow. Raw foods. Vegan.
To attempt to reverse my condition, I eat a high fat diet with moderate protein.
My diet consists primarily of meat, cooked greens, and an ANSF shake. I hate salads, and it’s hard to eat enough on a vegan diet to get adequate calories and protein. If you are vegan, a superfood shake has vegetable protein that will go far in keeping you healthy.
What I am following is a regimen that keeps my net carbs under 25g per day. Most days I make it. But even on a bad day, I keep it under 50g, which is much like the Atkins induction phase. One serving of ANSF has only 3 net carbs, and 20g of protein.
What I do to mix my shake is a little different. I start with a bullet blender and one large, raw egg. You may not be comfortable with that. It’s up to you. For those on the go, you can forego the egg and use a shaker to mix the powder with water or almond milk.
Next, I add a cup of cashew milk. It’s better tasting and creamier than almond milk.
For my diabetes diet, I also add a teaspoon of cinnamon powder, and a tablespoon of coconut oil. Then, two scoops of ANSF powder, and maybe a quarter frozen banana for taste and thickness. (I should use ice cubes, but the frozen banana just plain tastes better.)
Having protein and greens in one drink is a huge advantage. For preppers and survivalists, it’s the perfect food for a bugout bag. It will last for up to 3 years unopened, and can keep you alive in a pinch. At 2.1 pounds, a bag belongs in each family member’s backpack.
My big problem with storing huge amounts of food is that if the SHTF, bad guys are going to be coming after your pantry. American Natural Superfood is an insurance policy in case you have to abandon your home. And it’s also an insurance policy on maintaining your health.
