As IBMs*, we are more at risk for memory loss than most members of the general population. We are older, but that is no reason to give up.
The first thing to do to remember more is to try to remember. Sounds silly, but many times we just don’t care. You are introduced to someone, and you just don’t forget their name, you might not have heard it clearly in the first place.
You can’t remember what you didn’t “member” in the first place.
We often beat ourselves up over poor memory when we have not tried to remember something in the first place. Push your ability and you may be surprised at how good it is.
Another funny thing about memory is that I can’t remember many of the good things that happened in the past, but my brain can dredge up every dumb ass thing I did to hurt someone and beat me over the head with it.
Maybe a bad memory is a self-defense mechanism.
